DESCRIPTION:\nWith the ever-increasing speed of technology, wealth planners and estate planners are facing a new set of issues related to digital assets. This presentation will provide practical guidance on planning for digital assets under the Revised Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act (RUFADAA), and the considerations practitioners need to keep in mind when administering estates in this digital era.\n \n \n ------\n\nChelsea Ray Riekkola\n \nChelsea was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and received her J.D. from the University of Oregon, focusing her studies on estate planning and probate law.  While in law school, Chelsea wrote and published an article for the American Bar Association Journal of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law on handling digital assets after death, as well as participating in work groups related to digital asset legislation. She is now a Shareholder at Foley & Pearson, P.C., where she has practiced in the areas of estate planning and administration since 2014. Chelsea is a current Co-Chair of the Executive Committee of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Alaska Bar Association, an active member of the Alaska Trust & Estates Professionals (ATEP), and a current Trustee of the Anchorage Library Foundation.  Chelsea is a proud Millennial, and continues to be interested in the intersection between digital assets and estate planning.\n \nCasey Carruth-Hinchey\n \nBorn and raised in Anchorage, Casey returned after graduating from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri. While in law school, she served as a primary editor on the editorial board of the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy. She also worked in the school’s Intellectual Property & Nonprofit Organizations Clinic. During her second semester of law school, her two-person team won the American Bar Association Client Counseling Competition. She spent her law school summers in Alaska, interning for U.S. District Court Judge John W. Sedwick, Judge Sharon Gleason (then presiding judge of the Alaska Superior Court), and the Municipality of Anchorage Legal Department. Casey is an associate attorney with Shaftel Delman, LLC.\n
