Topics will include initial consultations, sale and marketing logistics, personal property appraisals, and the process of selling and collecting sale proceeds. Dan and Nick will also discuss what personal representatives can expect, in terms of documentation, time frame, and costs.\n \nAs a special treat to the estate planning council, Dan, a certified auctioneer, will be calling a brief live auction at the end of the meeting, where he will be auctioning off a few gift baskets that have been donated to AEPC. All proceeds from the auction will be given to the Alaska Fund at ACF. We look forward to seeing you for this dynamic presentation. \n ------\n\nâAbout the Speaker:\n \nDan Newman, Professional Auctioneer\n \nDan Newman is a professionally certified auctioneer and founder of Alaska Premier Auctions and Appraisals LLC. Dan is also a certified personal property appraiser and member of the Certified Appraisers Guild of America. Dan is a member of the National Auctioneers Association and the ambassador for the state of Alaska for the national organization. Dan has also earned his Benefit Auctioneer Specialist designation. Having a BAS designation means he is well trained in working with non-profit and school organizations in the most effective methods of charity benefit auction fundraising events. He is one of less than 1% of minority Auctioneers in the world that are Benefit Auctioneer Specialists. He has received an Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Goldpan Award for his volunteer work and was recognized as an Alaskan “Top 40 Under 40” honoree in 2017 by the Alaska Journal of Commerce. Dan is also involved with the Anchorage Chamber’s Young Professionals Group as the events coordinator chair as well as with the Anchorage South Rotary Club. \n
